Best Good Hang yet! While we're scrutinizing Hinge behaviors, I’m wondering if men primarily matching with women also see the same tired old jokes recycled over and over like the ones I always see on dude’s profiles:
- Voice prompt of “How to pronounce my name”, the name is something like Josh
- I’m looking for….my keys (please stop)
- Shower thought I recently had…do crabs think fish are flying? (so specific but I’ve seen it about five times now)
Not the same "jokes" that you posted, but I see a lot of nearly identical prompts. I often encounter "The best way to ask me out is: Google Calendar invite" ...I don't have your email address...
It is my sense that some percentage of people have always just outsource their sense of humor to viral trends / ways of speaking (think “is a hot dog a sandwich”) now there just seems to be a critical mass of actual dating influencers where these medium hinge prompts are “going viral”
The hinge meme killing me is this weird copy paste expectation setter from tiktok that replaces sharing any sense of personality:
"The way to win me over is… ‘don’t worry, I’ll take care of it,’ ‘I made us reservations for tomorrow night, be ready at 7,’ ‘let me get the door for you.’”
let me tell you the things straight men write in the italics of their dating intentions are craaaaaaaazy “where are all the nice girls i can bring home mom?” or “let’s just see where it goes, okay?” sends shivers down my spine
"Sure, i’m looking for a long term relationship… a long term relationship with the love of my life" — they should make this an option honestly 😂 Love of my life, swipe right; everyone else, swipe left.

Medium specific*
Special skills: getting my hoodie back that you “borrowed” comes up on my hinge minimum once maximum thrice a day
And the italicized intentions elaboration is so hateful I have nooooo words
filling out a dating profile has become a bit too close to writing a resume for my comfort
Harry, I’d like to hear your thoughts on when people don’t fill out their dating intentions section at all 🤔
There’s probably a whole book someone could write on not filling out stuff and what that says
This is a banger.
